The Blazing End

Ejbek skulked through the halls of Ka'pa the Hutt's palace, clutching a bundle tightly. It would be his death if he was caught with it; but some things are worth the risk, like freedom. It's not that Ka'pa wasn't a good master. His Ugnaughts were well cared for. They had nice rooms, access to the bar, and even a fair amount of free time. But there are some things that can't be done here.

Ejbek entered the barroom and scanned the room for Sejan, his co-conspirator. She was sitting at one of the booth tables. Ejbek started across the room. He was nervous; the room was crawling with off duty guards and ruffians. He bumped into a Gran who jumped to his feet.

"G'hortnik!" the Gran grunted. Ejbek panicked. He reached into the bundle but, before he could do anything rash, the Gran headed toward the bar. Ejbek sighed in relief and rushed to Sejan's booth.

"Did you get them?" Sejan asked, anxiously.

Ejbek nodded and produced a belt of flash detonators from the bundle. "Tomorrow, when our work detail is outside the rear gate, we will blind our guards and escape."

"Yes, we will escape to Barons Hed where we will sit upon the drums and await the Blazing End!"

"It will be good to meet our end like true Ugnaughts," reflected Ejbek.

Suddenly there was a commotion outside. It sounded like a brawl; there was blaster fire and grunts of Gran, Gamorians, Itholians, and Rodians. But there was another sound. A sound neither of the Ugnaughts had heard before, a strange humming sound…

Then, without warning, a human female burst into the barroom, swinging a purple lightsaber about, slaying guards and ruffians left and right. She jumped onto the Ugnaughts' table, scooped up their flash detonators, and leapt from the table, continuing her rampage out the bar's back exit. As quickly as the rampage had begun, it was over. The hum of the lightsaber quickly faded into the distance.

Sejan gazed at the empty tabletop. "Our detonators…they're gone. And our chance at the Blazing End!" she lamented.

"Detonators?" said Ejbek. "We don't need no stinkin' detonators! That saber-chick just offed all the guards! We can walk right out of here!"

Sejan's face lifted, "You're right Ejbek. Now we can flee to Barons Hed and the Blazing End!"
